THE SNACK DEPT.: DEDICATED TO THE KIDS WHO ARE ALWAYS A LITTLE 'SNACKY'

If you’re raising a toddler, you know snacks hold more power than reason, schedules, or logic. The mere whisper of “snack?” can dissolve a tantrum, buy you five precious minutes, or spark a full-blown meltdown—depending entirely on what’s in the bag.

Snacks used to be the thing that held kids over between “real” meals. A string cheese on the ride home. A handful of puffs while you finish the grocery run. A quiet-time snack to tide them over until dinner.

But somewhere along the way, snack time started taking center stage.

Now, it’s not unusual to hear, “Can I have a snack?” five minutes before dinner. Or to watch your kid pick at a meal, declare themselves full, and then, like clockwork, ask for a snack ten minutes later.

Sometimes snacks are the meal. And while we’ve all leaned into that flexibility (because some days are about survival), it also comes with a side of frustration.

You prep a full plate. They reject it. You cave. They're suddenly on the couch, eating popcorn and fruit snacks. The end.

It’s the story that stays on repeat.

For me, snack time was more than just a parenting lifeline. It became the spark for something bigger. That something is Playground Originals' own Snack Dept. line.

It clicked somewhere between the crushed crackers at the bottom of the stroller, the half-eaten fruit bars rediscovered in jacket pockets, and the very passionate snack opinions toddlers tend to develop.

It's a playful nod to snack culture: a full-fledged department dedicated to the kids who are always a little “snacky.”

The Snack Dept. is hands-down one of my favorite things I've created. It reminds me that even on the wildest days, there’s always a little magic to be found—especially when toddlers and snacks are involved. It’s often the calm in the chaos.

So this is for the little ones.

For the kids who ask for a snack before dinner, don’t eat dinner, and then ask for another snack after.
For the ones who survive on pouches, crackers, and vibes.
For the ones who treat snacks like treasure, trade them like currency, and toss them like confetti.

The Snack Dept. collection is for you.
